The mission of this role is to build and own the backend systems that power Morpho's consumer-facing products: reliable, performant APIs and data pipelines that serve accurate financial data to users at scale.
Develop backend features using TypeScript and Node to deliver clear product outcomes for the Morpho Consumer team.
Design and evolve GraphQL APIs and data models to expose accurate, secure financial data to the frontend with sub-second response times.
Operate and improve PostgreSQL-backed data pipelines to ensure performance, reliability, and availability as transaction volumes grow.
Collaborate closely with frontend engineers and product to scope, ship, and iterate on end-to-end features across the Consumer product.
Identify and implement architecture improvements: improving data processing, caching, and API layer design to simplify systems and reduce operational burden.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues to maintain a high-quality user experience.
Write clear, concise documentation and async updates to keep stakeholders aligned across time zones.
Ramped up on the Consumer API, codebase, and delivery practices. Shipped the first meaningful feature safely to production. Established clear async communication habits and collaboration rhythms with product and frontend peers.
Owns delivery of scoped features end-to-end. Identifying and starting to implement architecture improvements to the API and data processing layer. Contributing to higher reliability through better observability, testing, and incident response.
The go-to engineer for the Consumer API, with deep functional and technical context. Consistently delivering high-impact features and taking full ownership of architecture decisions within the Consumer vertical.
8-10+ years of backend development experience in production TypeScript/Node environments.
Hands-on experience with GraphQL APIs and relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
Experience working on a backend-for-frontend stack, or collaborating closely with frontend teams to serve product data.
Track record operating production systems at scale: reliability, observability, and performance under real load.
Strong interest in the Web3 ecosystem and comfort learning the DeFi domain.
Comfort operating in fast-changing, ambiguous environments where priorities shift.
Strong ownership and autonomy: takes responsibility for outcomes end-to-end.
