Role
The mission of this role is to scale Morpho’s People function from 0-1 to 150+ team members while maintaining the highest operational excellence and making Morpho the best-functioning team in DeFi.
Responsibilities
- Champion Morpho’s culture through hiring, onboarding, and engagement initiatives to ensure every team member has the conditions to thrive in a remote-first, high-performing environment.
- Own and scale the full Talent Journey using data and AI-driven insights to enable high performers to do their best work across all stages from recruitment to retention.
- Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing People team across admin, recruitment, and operations to build clear ownership and a culture of high standards rooted in a crypto-native mindset.
- Align hiring plans, org design, and people programs with product and go-to-market priorities to ensure the right people are in the right roles at the right time for business success.
- Act as a strategic partner to leadership by providing clear data, simple processes, and training to empower them to scale their teams effectively and make informed people decisions.
- Design systems, structures, and processes that anticipate business changes to gracefully scale with volume, headcount, and the needs of a global team.
- Monitor best practices in crypto and high-growth tech to selectively bring in what makes Morpho more resilient and efficient as the company evolves.
What Success Looks Like
In your first 30 days
You’ll build a clear understanding of Morpho’s strategy, products, protocol, and internal organization. You’ll map existing People processes, tech stack, ownerships, and gaps to identify immediate priorities.
By Month 4–6
You’ll have opened new roles if needed, owned team rituals (1:1s, reviews, knowledge sharing), and started active coaching to raise the bar. You’ll design the People roadmap for the coming year, establish high-bandwidth communication with the leadership team, and raise the bar on recruitment and people operations.
By Month 12
You’ll have made People operations reliable and predictable, harmonized across countries with minimal firefighting. You’ll enable the business to scale without slowing down growth, make Morpho the highest functioning team in DeFi, and become a trusted strategic partner to leadership on key business decisions.
Must-have Experience
- 8+ years in People Operations, including in high-change tech startup environments (web3, AI) scaling teams from 50 to 150+ people
- Experience managing the entire Talent Journey from hiring to onboarding to people development to long-term retention
- Experience working in ambitious, culture-driven, remote, and internationally distributed teams
- Proficiency in leveraging AI tools (e.g. LLMs, automation, data analysis, copilots) to improve productivity, decision-making, and quality of output in day-to-day work.
- Track record of empowering and engaging leaders rather than setting up heavy processes
- Ability to embody and champion a strong company culture
- Can get operational and hands-on when needed
- Empathetic approach to people and their development
- Crypto experience or strong appetite to learn about the space
- Located in Paris or ability to come frequently to the office (1x a month)
- Used to working with startup tools (Slack, Notion) and geared towards AI/automation
