Morpho Effect October 2026: Bringing credit onchain, market by market

In October, two new types of credit markets were topics du jour: tokenized stocks and receivables financing.
The size of each opportunity is enormous. Crypto-backed lending is a market of around $70B. Stock-backed lending is around $300B, with significant upside as more of the global stock market comes onchain. Receivables financing exceeds $4T (including annual turnover) per year. Morpho's infrastructure is already built and ready to power all three and more.
In August, Paul Frambot's article set out how Morpho Midnight addresses two types of onchain credit for tokenized stocks: tokenized stock-backed lending and tokenized stock lending. Stocks carry very different risk profiles, and every holder brings a different combination of assets. Isolated markets such as Morpho Blue and Morpho Midnight can therefore serve stock-backed lending far more flexibly than traditional pooled models.
Coinbase Tokenized Stocks and Robinhood Stock Tokens are now live on Morpho, on Base and Robinhood Chain respectively.
Receivables-backed lending is another emerging credit market that Morpho has been building over the past year. Receivables are payments a business has earned but not yet received, and as a business grows, they tie up more of its working capital. Receivables-backed credit lets businesses borrow against these future payments to fund their operations. Globally, this is a market of more than $4T per year (including turnover), and it continues to grow. Built on Morpho Midnight, receivables financing becomes more programmable and can offer more competitive rates. The first use cases built on this model will be announced soon.
New on Morpho Midnight
Morpho Vaults will soon be able to allocate to Morpho Midnight
Historically, building fixed rate credit onchain was difficult simply because new protocols had to bootstrap liquidity from zero. That will change with the Midnight Adapter, which will open access for $5B+ in liquidity in Morpho Vaults to allocate to Morpho Midnight in Q4 2026.
Curators will be able to differentiate their vaults not only by their allocations across Morpho Blue markets, but also by vault utilization, allocation strategies between Blue and Midnight, and more.

$100M, then $200M in total deposits
Adoption of Morpho Midnight’s fixed-term, fixed-rate markets is accelerating and reflects growing demand for greater predictability in onchain credit. In the final week of October, total deposits surpassed $100M, then $200M.

A more detailed look at oracles
It is now easier to assess a market's oracle configuration: users can see the feed type, price per feed, price provider, who can change the price feed and much more directly from the source, all within the Morpho App interface.
This simplifies the workflow for any allocator doing due diligence before making an allocation.

See yield curve across maturities
Midnight markets now show more detailed data, including the yield curve for each loan and collateral asset pair.

The Markets App on mobile
Users can now view Midnight markets on their mobile devices, including the order book, the yield curve and more.
P2P Orders now support any loan asset
P2P Orders, available on Base, Ethereum, Arc and Robinhood Chain, now support every token on the network as a loan asset. This delivers on the product's original goal: letting lenders and borrowers make offers on any asset, without being limited to existing markets.
Robinhood Stock Tokens are live on Morpho
Any user on Robinhood Chain can now use their Stock Tokens as collateral on Morpho to borrow stablecoins. This is only the beginning for Stock Tokens on Morpho. With Morpho Midnight, users will be able to borrow against a portfolio of Stock Tokens, or even a mixed portfolio of crypto and Stock Tokens, giving them more flexibility and options to put their holdings to work.
Crypto Loan via Ledger Wallet is powered by Morpho
Ledger is the world's leading hardware self-custody platform, and Ledger Wallet gives its users access to onchain finance. Ledger first integrated Morpho Vaults to offer its users onchain yield. BTC-backed loans are now also available directly in Ledger Wallet.
The integration reflects a broader pattern: platforms integrate one side of the market first, either earn or borrow, then add the other side, so that existing lenders can supply liquidity to new borrowers. This creates a liquidity flywheel that grows both sides of the market and offers the platform's users more competitive rates.
Another memorable Vault Summit
The last Vault Summit of the year took place during TOKEN2049 in Singapore. More than 600 attendees from onchain and traditional finance came together to discuss the future of onchain lending.

"Vaults" and "curators" have only been industry terms since early 2024, when Morpho Blue was deployed. They are now the standard terms for discussing how the financial industry is coming onchain.
Morpho builds vaults to enable an open credit market for the world. That means thousands of different curators serving users with different needs.
Paul Frambot shares where curation goes from here in Taking the Long View on Onchain Credit and Curation.
